Happiest December

We are busy working with the Community Transformation Discipleship Training School. Organizing 130 people going to 14 different nations is a lot of work. Our students have spent nearly 12 weeks in Kona cultivating community, delving into lectures and other forms of intentional learning in order to know God in a deeper way. Starting December 17th, they will launch out into the nations to be a living witness of the goodness of our God and to make Him known. They will go to Brazil, Cambodia, China, Comoros, Finland, India [2], Nepal, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, USA [New York], and Zimbabwe.

We recently sent in our visa applications (we've applied for 3-year charity visas), and booked our tickets to Cape Town for January 14th. We also booked housing for our first month, and hope to find permanent housing soon after! We are packing up our belongings here and saying goodbye to dear friends before flying back to the Midwest on December 18th. We are really doing this!

It's hard to believe that Lindsay is into her second trimester already. Tiny (yet to be named) Baby Grimes is doing great. And Mama, while dealing with occational migraines, is going strong. Our first "Ride For South Africa" Bike-a-thon was held on December 1st. It was a perfect day and Kevin easily road 107.3 miles and climbed over 4,500 ft in elevation. The route Kevin road is the same route as the 112 mile bike ride for the Kona Ironman - the toughest bike portion of any Ironman Triathlon in the world. He had six friends ride with him in intervals to keep him going and he smiled from beginning to end. We raised around $2,085 and felt loved by many.

In the future, we hope to turn this Bike-a-thon into a fundraiser for Create Peace art and sports classes. If you'd like to donate to Kevin's ride and our move, there is still time. Go to bike.create-peace.org to make a donation. We'll leave the web site up for several more days.

Every pledge and donation is tax deductible.

Our planned schedule for the Midwest:

December 19th: Arrive in KC
December 24th: Drive to Omaha
December 27th: Drive to KC
January 4th: Drive to Omaha
January 14th: Fly to Cape Town, South Africa out of Omaha

We would love to see many of you while we are around. It could be the last time for a few years!

PARTNER WITH US

We're looking to add additional partners to our support team. With the new baby on the way, we need to add an additional $1500 per month of financial partnership. Would you prayerfully consider joining our team? You can Donate Here.

Prayer For Our Family:

1. For a healthy, whole, life-filled baby!
2. For our visas to be approved and returned before we leave.
3. For complete financial provision of our moving costs and sustainability in our long term support base.
4. For safe travels as we make our way from Kona to South Africa.
5. For quick permanent housing in South Africa in order to prepare for baby.
6. For grace as we transition from life, ministry and responsibilities in Kona to South Africa.

Prayer For South Africa:

1. That the Lord would continue His work of racial and economic reconciliation and for many young African leaders to rise up and take hold of the Kingdom.
2. That the spirits of racism, violence and fear would be broken and that Christ's Kingdom of peace would be proclaimed.
3. For a revival of faith to be birthed in the church of South Africa that might bring unity across racial divides.
