Threads of Hope

Threads of Hope assists the economically oppressed in under-developed countries to establish home enterprises that will provide an income, through the development of products that can be sold world-wide. Funds generated through sales and donations will primarily be used to help meet the physical, educational and spiritual needs of the communities where the products are made.

hi friends,

i have a question/favor to ask of you--

one of the fund-raising projects i was looking at doing this fall (really, am i 29 or 15???! ha.) is through a ministry called threads of hope (see above link.) basically, a couple that has lived in the philippines will let me sell bracelets (for $1) or necklaces (for $2) made by their philippino friends. we (lindsay + the bracelet/necklace maker) will each receive 50% of the profits.

the founder of the ministry wrote this--
It is not my intention to profit from the sale of these bracelets, but to return the proceeds by providing schooling, medical care and nutrition to those that don't have the resources to do it on their own. With the money that has been made so far, we have been able to help one girl go to school and provide a steady, honorable income to some struggling families.

anyway, i heard about this last year and it's a ministry that i would love to support.
i am looking for people to help me sell the bracelets--children, teens, college sorority, adults, friends, etc.

i could order the bracelets, ship them to my parents' home, work out a pick up system and any unsold products could be returned to the carstensen house after a couple of months. i thought they might be a fun/easy christmas gift, party favors, etc.--something nice to buy for large groups of children or whatnot? be creative?

if you are interested in buying any bracelets, would like to help sell bracelets, or have any questions please let me know.

la, la, la.

love you.
lindsay
