"Christmas Truce"

On Christmas Eve 1914, in the Western Front of France in World War I, the Scottish, German and French troops have a short time of truce and shared moments of peace and friendship. This ten-minute clip, from the movie Joyeux Noël [2005], depicts the spontaneous act of laying down weapons and enemies coming together for one night. It brings tears to my eyes EVERY time.

"And at the heart of this astonishing grassroots effort of peacemaking was art." - Tim Keller
