Standing in the Rain With Family

On Sunday, after service, we took a field trip to the Panama Canal.

The boats must wait for the announcer to give them the go ahead to pass through the locks.
Once the boats are in the first chamber the water lowers on one side and raises on the other until they are equal. While it takes a long time, it's pretty amazing to watch.
Each boat then goes through another lock and repeats the same steps. This is my community waiting for the boats to go through the locks.Once the first lock opens, the boats move into the chamber. The water is now level and the boats can travel through to the next chamber and lock.
Cambria and I can hardly wait to see the boats pass by!
Self portrait in the rain. Note the "wet dog" look.
This is the only photo Diane and I have together... I promise we both are a lot cuter in real life. Diane is a rock star really.
